SWIM in the lake and the pool. Bring your swimsuit, towel, umbrella, friends, family or crew for a day at the beach and the pool in a celebration of our waters and the spirit of Sunnyside as the historic PLEASURE GROUNDS of our City. SWEAT to the sounds of a Global Bass genre-bending dance party with cutting edge new electronic dance musics from Toronto and around the world spun by a globally acclaimed group of DJs. New York’s  GHE20GOTH1K crew leader VENUS X and Rio De Janeiro’s MAGA BO, both celebrated in recent months by the New York Times (here and here!), Fader, Rolling Stone etc., the return of Brooklyn’s border crossing bass visionary and WFMU radio host DJ/RUPTURE, Montreal’s Karnival/Bounce Le Gros soca/dancehall producer POIRIER and Toronto’s Pan-Latino party crew DOS MUNDOS, Moombahton mixers SLOWED featuring Torro Torro and Lucie Tic, and global psychedelic dancehall specialists M.A.M.A. feat. Dorian and Dorian. Curated by Marcus Boon!

TUNE IN to  global sub-bass frequencies and rhythms in the flowing waters, shifting plates, and beating of our own fiery hearts, with Toronto’s Afro-Brazilian percussion crew MARACATU MAR ABERTO.

PAY RESPECT to the lake in a sunset event, featuring dance choreographed by Toronto’s AIMÉE DAWN ROBINSON a.k.a. MOTHERDRIFT and performed by ALLISON PEACOCK, BARBARA LINDENBERG, LO BIL, VICTORIA CHEONG, and DAWNE CARLETON.

LISTEN to the lake’s many voices in a live performance featuring BRODIE WEST, NICK FRASER, LINA ALLEMANO, DOUG TIELLI, and ALEX SAMARAS, and a Sound Map of the Humber River  created by composer JULIET PALMER (Urbanvessel).

COOL OUT around Alexandra Gelis‘ extraordinary moving edible sound sculpture installation Snow Cone (Raspao), complete with icy sweetness, in the courtyard.

ENJOY the pavilion till midnight with multi-media immersive installations connecting us to Sunnyside’s history and presence by CHRISTIE PEARSON (WADE, THEWAVES, Urbanvessel), MARGARET KRAWECKA, MELISSA FISHER and JIM RUXTON (Subtle Technologies).
